We are going away next Sunday for a week and are planning to be away in the caravan over either Christmas or New Year. We'll have a few more trips away this year as no rush to decide when to go as sites have space at this time of year.
We'll be trying our new awning this time away, we think the porch awning will be an asset when it is cold and wet outside.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
well,we cant get time off and we have a dog and parrot. So we need animal sitters. We cant take the dog as if we go out of sight for a few minutes its barking non stop, not fair on other campers. And the parrot is very stroppy, she has to come out at 6pm and go to bed at 9pm.Otherwise she bites and squarks.Im only about an hour from chatsworth and clumber park, well worth a visit if you have not been.Soon be summer

We are off today for 2 nights, going for 4 in November and 3 at New Year.
It's our first season & for us the whole point of spending the money is to be able to go all year in it. We were so weather dependent in the tent. but now we can be on *holiday* at the drop of a hat!
We have one more trip next week just 4 days then pack up until the clocks change again.
I don't like it but I also don't like the length of the dark evening s or nights shut up in what seems like a box if the weather is bad.
So I spend my time searching for sites and booking for next year.
Also make a list of things to do and places I would like to visit in the areas near .
Not quite the same I know. My OH hates it , is not interested at all in where We go and I think would love it if I said I don't want to go any more. ( no chance.)
