Can't wait until we go on our third caravan trip ever this weekend. It is our longest since getting the van being 5 nights. My mind keeps wandering off thinking about what to take & where I am putting it. A caravan owner for 1 month, that's all. I'll eventually get some perspective won't I?

No, don't ever get perspective! That's like being a grown up and we all know grown up's never have fun, always moaning and being sensible....
Go out and enjoy your van. Find yourself a spot and lose yourself.
Laugh at the fact you made an arse of the BBQ, enjoy taking the poo for a walk (emptying the cassette/potty) and watch all the angry people as they buzz past you and swear at you for holding them up for all of 10 seconds. Remember, they are going to work, you are going to enjoy.
Nothing beats a glass of wine or a pint of beer watching the sun set in an peaceful place that you call bliss.
hi lyn just take what you think might need for this time of year a few warm clothes for daytime if there are shops near where you are going buy your food there .
any heavy items over the axel after a few trips it will all fall into place what you need to take wiyh you any way have a good time on your holiday and welcome to the world of tin tenting
We've not had our van for very long either as Lyn knows and I've no intention of ever getting any perspective. I'm just disappointed that due to existing commitments last weekend is likely to have been our last trip out until next Easter.
It will always be the same.
We both work full time - shifts.
Have had our caravan for 5 years, done 58 trips and stayed on 81 campsites, 9 of those trips were in Europe in excess of 3 weeks. We got back from France late September and our next trip is on Nov 3rd, would possibly have been sooner if I had not been ill for 2 weeks on our return. get out as much as you can, that's what life is for - Living. Lyn, just enjoy. We have recently returned to caravans after a gap of many years. Have now had our van for just under a year. It's an oldie, but we love it!
We bought our van a couple of weeks ago and not properly using it till 21st November
We have booked 2 nights at Sherwood Forest and can't wait.
I have had 2 sleepovers with the kids and can't stop thinking what to take and what we need lol.
I said I would never have a caravan but knew I would end up with one eventually, now I have one I think it's great and can't wait till next year to spend some proper time in it.
It's a different feeling from a folding camper which we used to have as you can just hitch up and go and wet pack ups are a thing of the past
I have a kids party (I'm a dj) 12/2 then home, hich and haul ass
Friday night to Sunday night, but it's just enough....
There's a Halloween party, so I am donning my pirate costume (already packed) and my son is going as spiderboy or if I can persuade him, a small pirate
Trying to persuade her indoors to put on her witch costume. She is really good at it....even without a dress or hat
Just enjoy yourselves. If left anything important, theres always shops a out.
we used to camp, but having a caravan now means we dont have to worry about the weather too much. Enjoy life while you can!
------------- Enjoy life while you can, none of us know what's round the corner!
Thanks everyone i couldn't agree more. Just sorting the clothes now for our getaway tomorrow. See you Sunday Admiral can't wait to show off Sallyvan to you. We call her Sally as the car is Harold or Harry so when we picked Sally up Harry met Sally!!! (groan!)

If it gets ever gets tedious - which it won't - you can always resort to checklists. We do this purely because of the 'age thing'...we'd end up with nothing we actually needed otherwise.
