Hello Everyone,

I'm in the newbie caravanner research process, planning to buy a 2nd hand 2 berth compact caravan over Winter as 'living' to tow behind a Renault Master small horsebox for occasional Summer weekends away at riding events (don't worry, I'm going to do a towing course even though I have an old licence!).

I've checked and I can safely and legally tow up to 2tonnes, but as its just for me and I'd like to keep the length down I was looking at the lighter and more compact 2 berths. I know what the new models I think would fit the bill are called, but what are their older equivalents (say £3-5K?) called please so I can be be on the lookout for them? I like the look of:
Swift Sprite Finesse
Elddis Xplore
Adria Action
Lunar Arriva
Whatever I go for must have a shower and I love the garage on the Ardia

Thank you!

A Bailey Ranger from about 2004 might fit the bill. The 2 berth version is very light with everything you would need in it.
The draw back with a 2 berth is you have to convert the lounge into the bed each night, but, if it's for yourself alone you can leave one of the bench seats made up as a single bunk, leave the back rest at home and use the other seat for meal times etc.
If you were to use it in this configuration, then when you go looking at vans take a tape measure with you and measure the length of the seats to make sure they are long enough to use in this way.
Hope this helps and look at the pictures on my profile and you'll recognise one of the ones you mention........Mick

I've got an Eldiss Hurricane 2001 which I can tow with a ford focus. Think its 1300kg.
