Hi has anyone had this happen whilst trying to buy a new cvan?
Go dealers, for a look around, see van, jaw drops as I see a gorgeous van. Go sit with salesman he gives a total price to change, I go away and think about it (tell hubby). I ring back, salesman busy, so speak to someone else who then tells me the same deal is now £2,000 more expensive! What Eh you are defo 'avin a larf".
Shame as this company seems to have a good reputation and now I refuse to go near them and will get the same van elsewhere for a FAIR price.
We live and learn.

Did you get a printed quotation, as such a document would stand for a week or so I would guess.

If the quote was verbal, then I guess the price can change either way.

I think it's known as salesman's licence unless written down.

I completely agree with you that a salesman can and will say what is required. Its a standard caravan available elsewhere, so im afraid its their loss. Buyer always beware......

Salesman A may have been keen to hit his monthly target so gave a good deal, 2 weeks later and into a new month or targets hit and salesman B having hit his target so not so good a deal on offer.

That makes perfect business sense, still woudnt of made my mind up on the spot though for such a big purchase.

If its the caravan you want then speak to the original salesman, you may get the original price. Its possible that the sales person you spoke to had a customer who was also interested in the caravan.
