I have always had conventional awnings. I currently have a 5 metre Isabella Capri Lux I use as a porch awning. By myself it takes me about a hour to erect it including, putting it on the awning rail, pegs, curtains and draft skirt. No guy ropes.
On a dry day it takes about 45 minutes to clean, take down and pack up with a helper.
Iv'e always wondered how long it actually takes for one person to put up a 5 metre inflatable awning including draft skirt, curtains, pegs and ropes. How easy are they to pack away.
The Adverts/ You tubes are all speeded up.
Our Trigano air 240cm awning takes about 20 min to put up, mostly dependent on ground conditions for the pegs and just 12 min to take down and pack away single handed.
Take a look also at the Outdoor Revolution Oxygen Speed 3 if you want a very wide inflatable. Its a hybrid of air and a couple of poles and its super quick to put up, it also has an amazing fabric with a great uv coating so it lasts way longer than similar denier polyester awnings.
I would say the best quality inflatable awnings having seen most are in no order, Kampa, Vango, Outdoor Revoultion

Thats a hell of a 'porch' at five metres. Virtually a conservatory! The air-beam awnings seem bulky to me, the 'struts' being like fence posts. They must weigh a lot more than their 'poled' counterparts, surely?
We have the Kampa Air Ace at 4m long and 3 metres deep in the middle. It does not take long to erect the awning, but the same amount of time to peg it down. Time wise probably not a great saving to warrant the price. If you are disabled, the air awning is the best thing since sliced bread.
Thank you for the replies.
We have a 7x3.5 metre full awning which tkes a bit of time so we bought a Dorema porch awning for short stops.
It was a bit small 8'x7' only just managing a table and two chairs so I bought the 5mtr Capri off eBay and converted it to a porch.
I find it easy to erect but I wondered how it compared to inflatables in case we change in the future.
In hot weather we zip all the panels out of our tradiional awning and use it as a sun canopy. Can you do that with air beams and be confident that it will be secure in wind?
