We have just bought a new van with a fixed bed across the width of the van rather than along the side. This is so as to avoid the need for one of us clambering over the other in the night. The bed extends for night time and then stows for daytime use by removing a bit of mattress at the head of the bed. Are you with me?
Has anyone got one of these? I have been mulling over what do with the bedding to make it look tidy during the day but yet quick to fix back at night (otherwise the point of a fixed bed is negated) Anyone?
Maybe make a Bolster type pillow at the head end using the bits removed from the mattress, then tuck any spare duvet or bedding into the fold at the front like they do in some hotels?

The transverse beds ive seen are where the end bit pushes back so you can get past, but at night can you get past the bed if the bathroom is at the rear,if not you are no better off than a bed along one side,I think they are more suited to the wider vans
Ours has ample room with the bed pushed back, a squeeze to get past with it extended but ok. The bed is just long enough for me, as I am 6' 1". Very comfortable bed though.

Lift the headboard pillow up including the quilt.
Push bed back.
Put pillows in front of the cushion.
I have some photos of ours but don't think I can post on here
