Having the X-trail myself I had the same issue a couple of years ago and although I acquired a more up to date map they are fine for general AtoB journeys but I find the TomTom much more versatile, in so much you can add a multitude of POIs to the TomTom and the cost of upgrading the on board unit would by way exceed the price of a new TomTom with free life time maps, and the TomTom sucker sticks to the on board screen so not to leave tell tale rings on your windscreen.
