Hi everyone,
we are siting our van for the first time this year and I'm wondering if I leave the electric plugged in all season or do you just re-connect the mains supply when the caravan is being used?

Never had a seasonal pitch but what I have seen is that people disconnect everything when the leave.

The first site we were on allowed you to stay connected all season which was great as you could leave the fridge on & rodent deterrent switched on but of course this costs the second site had to be unplugged and this meant defrosting the fridge every time. For and against on both methods.

If you don't want to use any power when you are not there then disconnect & put your ehu lead in caravan. Its the sort of thing that might get nicked.

Best to check directly with the site.
Some allow you to leave hook up in situ all the time, others tell you to disconnect when the van is not in use.

If you can leave it in, it will be fine, I leave mine in, although the gaffer charges £30 a year for plugging and Un plugging for mowing even though it's buried in the ground
