One of the reasons that we enjoy caravanning is that we have loads of time for preparing and eating our meals/snacks.
We couldn't care less whether our kettle takes a bit longer to boil and we rather enjoy sitting outside until the whistle sounds on the kettle.
At home, everything is electric, so, on the basis that a change is as good as a holiday, a whistling kettle on a gas stove is part of that "holiday".
