We have been with Gem for our car and caravan recovery for the last year.
We have just received the letter to tell us our cover expires next month.
We have not needed to use Gem at all, paid as a one off payment, yet the cost has gone up from £75 to £126.
Has anybody else noticed the sharp rise for cover?

Saga remains at £121 for UK & Euro recovery(with no trip time limit)& home start including caravan. They also assure me they will come out if problem is with caravan, ie puncture. The AA come out to you in UK. Over 50s only though.

You don't know how good any breakdown cover is until you use it. Whatever cover you choose read small print very carefully & ask questions by phone to ensure correct length of caravan is covered etc.

My green Flag, Recovery Plus.(includes home start) renewal just came in, still £60. Check for limitations on Caravan size and it recovers both car and caravan but only if its the car that breaks down. Had them out once, good service.

We have the caravan club mayday service with green flag, had to have them out once to recover car and van and they were brilliant. Think this is about £60

Thanks for the replies.
We are both over 50, and the furthest that we go from home is approx. 40 miles.
Also noticed when we got the renewal letter from Gem they have changed some details.
Whereas when we arranged cover, it was agreed that anything wrong with caravan it would be taken to our storage, which is approx. 20 miles from home.
It has been changed to return to home or garage, whichever is closer:)
