Hi I have a abbey county Oxford and the blow air trips and blows the fuse every time I try and use it, it's fine on gas and blows cold ok,it's when i try to use electro, any ideas would be appreciated .
Certainly sounds like you electric element has blown if it works on gas and blows air it cant be the fan.
Some early models the electric element was only aback up for gas the main heat source once van had reached desired temperature the element would cut out thermostatically.
Others had three wattage settings 500,1000 and 2000 but still back up to gas.
Later models you could use both gas or electric as the main source of heating.
The trouble with using electric as the main source is the load, run on 2000 watts and your EHU is likely to keep tripping out
I found 500 watts a waste of time so it is 1000watts but if you use electric kettle or toaster + fridge + tv you have to turn heating off other wise your EHU trips.
And don't forget the load for the fan, battery charger and any 240volt lights if night time or dark morning.
I usually get everything cooking on gas mark 5 and when OH says she's warm enough turn gas fire off and plug in oil filled 650 watt thermostatically controlled radiator which keeps us comfortable.
why would your ehu trip out using 2000 watts? never had a problem at all with it on ours, but then again I follow the rule of one heating item on at a time!
