Hi there, we are looking to purchase a new awning for our Bailey Ranger GT60 540/6. We currently have two different types of awning, a large canvas Isabellla and also a Sunncamp porch awning. We are looking to purchase the biggest porch type awning that we can find as we find the canvas awning too much of a pain to put up, but our porch awning is not big enough. We have three sons and like to have lots of room to sit in the awning and also store numerous bikes/scooters etc. We are currently looking at the Kampa Rally 520 pro awning at the moment, does anyone have any experience with one of these awnings or can you recommend a similar type/size please? Thanks for your help.
The Kampa Rally Pro porch awnings are superb quality and very easy to erect taking far less time to assemble than a conventional awning. We changed from a tent to a caravan in 2011 and have had 1 full awning and various different sized porches, we currently use a Kampa Pro 200 for our winter touring and a Kampa Ace 400 for the rest of the year. The large size of the Kampa 520 was a concern for us as we felt that it was too large to be only held in place by the lightweight poles, pegging points etc and the rear pegging points whereas a conventional awning is secured all the way down the awning rail, it is totally attached to the van and has more poles to provide stability in stronger winds. The Kampa Pro range of porch awnings are superb quality, As jef juke states, if your going that big you might as well put up the full awning.
