How big an awning do you need? We have a Kampa Rally Pro 260 which I put up by myself very easily. Traditional full awnings have always needed a second pair of hands at some point despite my best efforts. I imagine something like a Scenic porch awning would be easy for one person but I have no personal experience to draw on.

I'm thinking a good sized porch awning, if i could find a full size awning i could put up myself I'd probably consider that too.
Thanks for highlighting the kampa awning as a 1 person job. I'll have a look at them on line.
Another vote for the Kampa Rally here, we have both the 390 and the 260, both very good awnings, and my 74yr old husband can easily manage to put them up by himself.
They are nice and deep with plenty of headroom at the front too, the rear upright poles keep the sides of the awning snug to the caravan, and are well worth paying the little extra for. We bought the 260 first, then follwed on with the 390 for when we needed the inner tent pod for our grandchildren to sleep in occasionally.

We have a royal which is almost identical to a sunncamp scenic. It's light and quite possible to do on your own. An air awning would also be easy though at the more expensive end but would make a large awning far more doable on your own.

Totally agree with the air awning. I frequently caravan alone with my 2 boys and I have found the Kampa Rally Air Pro awning to be by far the best one I have ever owned, and I have had a few!
Started with a full awning and then had various lightweight poled porch awnings, none of which were quite right. Now I have finally invested in an air awning, I would never go back.
Provided you lubricate the awning channel, putting it up is an absolute breeze. I reckon it takes me between 15 and 20 minutes on my own. Pegged and everything.
Any awning can be put up on your own big or small, it just takes longer to do but if you want something thats very easy have a look at click on the image for a larger view.
Thanks for the advice everyone, I'm fairly convinced I could get any awning up on my own without my kids around, they're 4 and 6 and they like to 'Help'!
I might try a 2nd hand Kampa Rally 260, if that fails I may have to fork out for an air awning.
