I'm looking into moving from glamping to caravanning and am confused with the large number and variety of makes available. Is there a chart or league table of caravan makes/models indicating their respective pricing and "plushness of finish" to the more basically appointed caravans? for example is a Swift "nicer" or more expensive than a Bailey or a Lunar or a Hobby - I've no idea.
thanks
Ian

All UK built makes of similar price are similar quality. All makes have different ranges, some higher spec than others & priced accordingly. Build quality among UK makers is much of a muchness, all have their faults if you are unlucky. German makes such as Hobby are considered by some to be of better build quality but always you need to compare like with like price wise. Not many foreign makes have dealer networks in the UK, only Adria, Hobby & Hymer, I think.

I would set a budget and then use something like caravanfinder to suss out all the different layouts you can get and then compare within that kind of basis.
Layout is key to try and get right for how you will use your van. There are good ones and bad ones of every make.
The caravan industry is nothing like the car industry for quality control and consistency of production, but vast majority in number will give you good service for many years with regular maintenance and minor repairs
on older caravans too it also depends on how well they have been looked after.
Have a good look round at a dealer - you will soon know which layouts and models you like
