just had 1st weekend away in recently bought bailey limosin couldn't get much power from the hot air heating system whilst on electric, but when I put it on gas/leky combination it kicked in a BIT better, when I turned the gas off the electricity power alone went back to warmish air and not very powewrful,i was thinking this maybe because the van has not been used for about 6 months, any help appreciated..thanks
Hi Barney, let the fire warm up for a bit before switching the fan on. Try only gas first then only electric to see if there is a problem with either one of them. Electric uses more than one element and they are switched on individually or combined together by selecting the various power settings. This will give you a clue where to start looking but remember the fan is merely that, just a blower, no heat at all is generated by it and too much blow early on may dissipate all the heat available. It sounds like the electric heating is at fault, this could be control PCB, relay contacts burned out, thermal trips open circuit or bad connections. Good luck.

As pickled Onion says the blown air can be somewhat variable. So as he says let the heater get war.m first then use the auto sitting on a Lowish setting ( 4 is good ) if on gas and electric together set it on a high setting and the heater will still get very very hot, so once it is hot turn the electric off the gas is more than capable.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Thanks for all your replies, will Suss it out better next time I'm at the van. As to birdmans reply, yes I also have settings of 500,1000 and 2000,so what is best one to have it set on ?
Depends on the hook up you are connected to and the number of amps available onsite. So 6amps x 230 volts = 1380 watts, so you would use 1000 or 16amps site = 3680 watts available. But don't use an electric kettle at þhe same time
The fan scavenges heat from the heat exchanger to circulate through the van. On electric it will take quite a while to build up the heat compared to gas. These heaters are designed to run on gas and the electric is a supplementary heat source. As said by op run it on 3. Also try takin the front off and checking the blades arent full of fluff. If so just get the hoover on them.

On mains on 2000 the fan should only be on number 3 any more it tends to cool down the elements quicker than they can heat up.
Thanks for that tip GERONA. Tried it out last night - heater on 2000, fan on 3 - and it worked a treat!!
