We have just found damp in a caravan 2008 bailey senator Vermont we bought from Glossop caravans last august. We have bought previous vans and have been ok .We saw mould in the wardrobe in the van at the back. We contacted Glossop caravans as it was under warranty they promised to strip all the wall boards and give us a lifelong warranty against the damp. However I have lost faith in the van. After much talking to ralph we found another van suitable, it cost us £750 to change the van but we are getting a 15 month warranty, they are going to deliver it and take it to our seasonal pitch in clevelys and we are doing a straight swop on the motor movers powertouch for enduro so I know others have had problems with Glossop. But if you talk straight to them thy will be straight back to you. There was talk of £1500 at first but they were willing to negotiate .Also we have gone from a 2 to 4 berth and its a year younger. I know they get bad press .But seeing as they treated us fair then I thought others should be aware of it.
I was interested to read about your Bailey Senator Vermont experience. I also have a 2008 model and have had to pay to have awning rail resealed and rectification of damp problems. I think it will be my first and last Bailey.
Yes we have had problems this is the second caravan we have had from Glossop that has had damp problem but give them their due they have sorted it out.Someone said I would have lost all faith in Glossop caravans .True but what happened could easily happen at any other dealers like jjgderbyshire just said he had a damp bailey .But as long as the dealer is willing be fair then that's all that can be done and yes as far as im concerned they were .Ok we have had to pay more money but trading standards said they can repair it or replace I was not willing for the repair as lost faith in the van so we sorted it out without too much cost to us .Plus they are willing to take it to our seasonal pitch
