Hi,
Can anyone tell me if these Mains water adapter kits are any good. The thing i'm on about is the float assemblly attached to a hose pipe which is inserted into your fresh water container and it fills up keeping your water level up instead of you having to keep filling it up yourself.
I got one last year. they are great as you don't have to fill up the aqua roll.
the only downside is as you don't know how much water You've used you may end up with an overflowing waste hog.
------------- Never argue with an Idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!!!

We bought one 3 or 4 years ago and have since used it once!
Whether they will be of any use to you rather depends on they type of sites you prefer.
Ideal on a fully serviced pitch where there is a tap and a drain for waste, but remember it is not just the adapter kit you carry but the fresh water hose and the waste water hose that you need to find space for as well.
If you only stay on fully serviced pitches and tend to stay for a while then they are worth taking them with you.
Thanks for the replies, some good info there.Haven't stayed on any sites yet with all of these services but may do some day.Just trying to make things easier when i have the chance to.
You need the 40 Ltr aquaroll or similar with two entry points' I bought a spare cap, and fitted the valve assembly. Bought from screwfix for peanuts. Use normal cap if no mains water and rolling aquaroll back and fore, other one if there is mains water available.

Be careful which make of aquaroll you get. Some have the top and the side caps on opposite sides and they are fine, but some have the top cap above (same side) as the side cap and they are a pig to set up because when you put the van hose and pump into the barrel, the pump can hit the mains water float chamber and knock it off the valve.
Also, to get the best use of a mains water kit, you need to be on a more expensive fully serviced pitch.
Is having mains water really worth all the extra expense?
We had a mains water hose with the van but only used it once due to worry from posts on here of the valve not working and flooding the van. Last summer the pitch was inclusive of mains water so we bought the adaptor and had no worries at all. It ws a big site so it was good to shower in the van and not worry about running out of water......but you do have to remember to empty the waste if not onmains drainage.

Thanks again for the replies. Some of the sites we go to we ain't got no choice, shared taps, but we have been looking at some fully serviced one's in some nice parts of the country we haven't been to yet.
