Well this could be a bargain for folk with Caravan/MotorHome.

Aldi are doing the 760LMT-D for £199.99 next Thursday, apart from the 7" Screen, this is one Daddy of a satnav, a quick Google says £300!

I am very tempted myself, although the Garmin 5" model 55LMT-Europe may be available from Aldi in May for £59.99.

Both units come with free lifetime map upgrades.

Oh to do.

That is a good buy, i have a Garmin at the moment and found it very good,I looked into the free lifetime map updates and in the small print it states that the word lifetime means 1.The actual lifespan of the Satnav,2. as long as the satnav has Enough available memory to accept the up dates,or 3.as long as the manufacturers release updates for that particular model whichever comes first.

Hi Francais. Is the 5 inch model suitable for caravanners? I have Sat Nav built into my Juke and it is very reliable sole but has no facility for selecting a route suitable for caravans or trucks. We are so used to using the Sat Nav now and I am wondering whether to invest in one that we can use when we have the caravan on the back. Having a decent one already fitted for when we are solo I wouldn't want to invest too much so £59.99 would be ideal

No the 55LLMT-Europe does not have the settings for Caravan/MotorHome size etc, it is really just a decent car type satnav, current street price is around £100.

I'm not sure free map updates are very important. They don't correct many errors.

Better to have traffic and the ability to add your own POIs from sites such as PocketGPSworld.

Free lifetime map updates!!
Yeah right...
I bought my first satnav about 15 years ago that covered all the UK and all of Europe for £500 that suppose to have FREE MAP and POI etc updates for LIFE, a lot of money back then. I still have it but not used it for about 3 years now due to the fact i use a smart phone for most things including maps.
I have tried to get the old satnav updated every year for the last 13 years with the so called free updates but there are none nill ziltch to be had. There has never been an update. I have tried to contact the company for updates each time but get no reply. I have emailed them at different departments levels through their websites including european but the last 2 years i have now given up. They have never bothered to reply at all even their complaints department.
Perhaps they have gone bust you may think! NO. The company is,   SONY.

When it says lifetime updates on a product take it with a pinch of salt..

Keiron .

The Garmin i have is a nuvi42LM ( lifetime maps ) which i updated last year as soon as i purchased it, i have just done it again with the 2015 map update but won't be doing it again for a couple of years unless they stop doing updates for it beforehand.

I bought one of these last year from Ebay after a nightmare journey to Eskdale with the car's own Satnav. Good buy and very clear indeed due to the size of screen.

i find it quite fun when my sat nav decides to take a short cut like it sometimes does.. some of them have been quite hilarious.. mind you i do have a smaller van and have never got stuck yet.. he he

its had me going down single track roads with grass growing in the middle before.. when you see the grass you know its time to wonder.. :)
