ok after 20 years of travelling down to devon and cornwall, but without a house on wheels at rear of car.
we now have caravan and are going down this year and i'am thinking which would be the easier route from exeter to st austell A30 OR A38.
Never been a problem before with everything packed in car.
I have towed caravan 6 times to sites since buying it,with no problems regarding the match the car and van....
Just want your opinions on which way you favour and why.
also if any of you have an image of elddis 30th anniversary badge that you could post a link to i would be very greatful
many thanks again

Been going to Cornwall every year for last 42 years and always use A30.First year going a camper on the site said he used A38,so the following year tried it, then reverted to the A30.Since it has been made dual carriage is even better. Before dual carriage my journey was seven and half hours, now five and half.
Hi
I live in cornwall and would definitely use the a30 but just be aware that they have just started the road works at temple. It's the last bit of single carriageway and this isn't going to be finished untill 2016/2017 it a about 3 mile stretch but does cause a lot of delays at peak times
many thanks all going tomorrow last two posts swung it but thanks for input: am booked overnight in exeter; then get early start to st austell

Living in Dorset we travel the A30 to Exeter on a regular basis If going to Devon we then get on the M5 and pick up the A38 from there. The A30 is now free of those roadworks just outside Exeter.
we went easter fornight and may bank holday: taking a38 over tamer bridge stopping at easter on exeter race course, and may holiday at exeter services both £20 poundish but got free breakfast at services.nice drive down both holidays but haldon hill leading up to exeter racecourse very steep, we exited cornwall devon on a30 at easter, was lucky missed traffic, so in may holiday we came back via plymouth tamer bridge.overall road works at dobwalls re-laying the road after a few months use, was better than road works at temple.
