I have replaced a status 315 with the same model but not for a 550 model. However, the 315 is fixed via 4 screws through the base plate directly into the caravan roof but it looks like the 550 is fixed on the underside which you will need to remove the status 315 first and then use the appropriate blanking plate to seal the existing screw holes and centre coaxial cable hole.
Then it looks like you have to drill through the blanking plate with a 50mm. hole saw to accommodate the status 515 aerial and then fix it to the caravan ceiling.
However, it looks like there is a kit available whereby the blanking plate and hole saw are included in the price of the aerial if you scroll down on the link below.
If you have the tools and are a DIY expert then I see no reason why you can't undertake the job and exchange the aerials over yourself. Just make sure that everything is cleaned with white spirit to remove any old adhesive then polish over the area before applying the fresh sealant to make a water tight fixing.
