Hi I think everyone knows that this sat nav is on offer at Aldi tomorrow, my question is it any good ??
I currently have a tomtom Go5000 live with life time maps and live traffic updates which is brilliant but I cant upload tomtoms camper maps to it as they are not available yet, so I've bought a 2nd tomtom (start 25)to add the camper maps to.
I'm thinking of selling both tomtoms and buying the garmin as technically it should tick all the boxes, But I don't know if its any good ??.
Can you upload poi ?? like the cc & cccl's ?
is the live traffic any good ?? as the tomtoms is brilliant.
If anyone has one please let me know if it actually ticks all the boxes ??

Yep, iggycamper on here bought one last year and seems quite happy with it, the price is good for a fully loaded 7" unit but no doubt the model is going EOL soon, the only concern at the £200 price point is how long will the model be supported with Free LifeTime Map updates, as lifetime is not quite what it seems?
I am hanging on for the 55LMT-Western Europe 5" at £59.99 not caravan specific, but still a dam good buy, Aldi could be doing that model in May again I am told.
i agree francais, i would hope that they could be updated for the next 5 years, i'm not really bothered about the european maps (at the moment) as long as the garmin traffic is good i think this will be a good buy.
Well I got to Aldi at 7.45 this morning and I was 1st their, funny about 10 cars followed me in 6 of them had towbars fitted, The doors opened at 8 and they all went in straight to the camping equipment, I bought my new Garmin then shot off to work, not had time to play with it yet but it bloody massive.
Should tick all the boxes once I know how to work it i'll let you know
got it last one in shop but its bloody big and cables everywhere

Yeah that's my thoughts, my tomtom doesn't need any extra cable for the antenna + the cable looks like it doubles up as a set of jump leads.
I've managed to hide all the cables in my car I just need to work out how to get the best from this unit, as long as the traffic is good i'll be happy,
I use mine everyday to go to work as the traffic is horrendous around Manchester
Yep Bessie, took me over 2 hours to get from Ramsbottom to St Helens this morning, set of at 6.30am and got there for 8.40 am it's only 34 miles, would have been quicker on my bicycle.
M66, M60, A580 (East Lancs Road) then under the M6, bumper to bumper just about all the way.
francais when I pull off my estate in the morning I have 2 options M61/M60 or leigh, east lancs, then through culcheth past bents garden centre that ways miles longer but at the mo its getting me to work far quicker, that was thanks to Tomtom hopefully it will be thanks to Garmin soon
I've owned Tom-tom, then to Garmin and now back to Tomtom.
I think the menu on tomtom is easier, maybe just being more familiar to me but one thing for sure is Garmin traffic is very poor compared with the latest tomtoms. I have the new Go and it pairs to my mobile automatically as soon as turned on and the traffic info is amazingly accurate.
bit late with this reply sorry - only just seen the blog.
I recently bought the Camper 760LMT-D from Aldi for £200 (last I heard it was £150) but returned it after lengthy emails with Garmin. It simply doesn't work! In car and caravan mode it kept trying to send me down narrow roads (the ones with grass in the middle!)
The had the latest TomTom Trucker 6000. And sent it back. Seems it has 2 maps - trucker and normal, but likely only the trucker map is included in the updated for life. Also no caravan mode although I suspect it can be set for something similar because there is an "other" setting where you put in outfit details. Decided to get the GO 6100 (25% off if you ring Tomtom) because that has everything for life.
