As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?

odd about the have to be 18 volts comment.. i deliberately lowered the voltage on mine to 12 which is plenty enough.. just make sure the legs are well lubricated and dont have tight threads..
one i made for the job the drill came off ebay new for a tenner minus its battery and the battery is a small RC type 12 volt lithium pack..
Aldi sometimes have them on offer,or Lidl.
I gotva Makita on offer from B & Q,2 batteries charger in a case for £89,less 10% over 60 discount!
Very good make with fast recharge time.

that one is the same as mine.. only with a small light weight battery instead of the heavy weight normal battery..
i have converted a couple of my drills to RC lipo batteries.. just take the old cells out and fit small RC batteries.. they dont self discharge and can be left stood for months and never go flat..
you do need a small RC charger to charge the batteries and be able to do a bit of soldering but the end result is well worth it.. more so for occasional use items..
my leg winder as been in the caravan since last summer i can just pick it up and use it and know it wont be flat.. it would also last a long time on a charge with normal caravan use..
self discharging is the biggest problem with metal hydride batteries.. okay for things in regular use but a pain for things that only get occasional use.. pick them up to use them and they are nearly always flat.. he he
I dont see the point of buying an expensive drill unless your a bit of a handy man.For to buy one for just putting down caravan legs a cheapy at 14v will do the job, mine has for the last 5 years.
I use a cheap one from Clarkes, works fine. I also have an old one which died on me and wouldn't hold the charge, discarded the battery pack and fitted a lead with a plug to fit the ciglighter socket, works well at 13.8 v. with the engine ticking over..........Mick
