So, 2nd time away in the new (to us) van (a 2011 Elddis). Last time the boiler worked perfectly on 240v and gas. Yesterday, the 240v tripped out the post - every time. I thought it was the 16amp post - but no. 2kw heater, kettle and fridge - all worked perfectly. Switch the lot off and just the water heater on - tripped.
Gave up - and it's worked perfectly on gas.
Any ideas? It's not been run dry (by me anyway) and not switched on until full of water.
I've used many of these over the years and not had an issue.
You're probably right. Found it on the boiler... It's installed fairly close to a wall. Anyone know how long the new elements are? If I could fit it without removing the boiler I'll have a go myself.
Changing the element should be fairly straight forward. It's only held in by 2 10mm? Nuts. A long reach socket would be useful. If you can get the old one out you can put the new one in and if you can't then you shouldn't do any harm and you still be able to you gas . If you look on the Truma website or leisure spares website there are exploded diagrams of the boiler and the part number of the element The only advice I can give is the you might want to sit down when asking the price about £85 iirmc
Thanks boff. Found the part. Just trying to work out how long the element is. If I can squeeze it in, I'll do it myself. If I have to remove the boiler, I won't.
