The wood grain finish to one of my interior doors has lifted over about a square foot. It appears to be a hard plastic type of material. I could squeeze a glue of one sort or another as at is loose from the edge. I don't know what would be the best glue to use and that it may split the finish when pressed down as it has bulged out. Would it be more pliable if it was warmed first and what glue to use?

Warm it with a hair dryer first taking any lumps etc out then use this...
