Hi I'm looking for a lightweight porch awning about 260 or 220 size. Don't really want to pay more than £150. Any recommendations please as am going bog-eyed looking at different makes

Dont know if you use E Bay or not but there are plenty of very good used ones on there,I bought a Towsure 260 panama for £50 two years ago,it had only been used once and we are still using it also try 121 camping in Walsall(they have a website)they have regular sales and they do deliver,as for the different makes, unless you are going to put it up for long periods, they are more or less the same, except for the price

It all depends how desperate you are but if you are willing to wait then you can grab a bargain especially on Ebay if you set a radius limit for collection. I was looking for a 260 cms. porch awning preferably in green on Ebay for several months but was outbid on two separate 'Kampa' awnings that were about 25 miles away but eventually a 'Royal' awning was advertised (in blue) in my own town at a starting bid of £30. There was one other bidder so in the final minutes I bidded £65 and won it for just under forty quid complete with ground sheet too. I think the starting bid was low because the first time I erected it there was some kind of black oil marks on inside the rear end near the door and top left of the roof section. However, I gently wiped it down with washing powder in hot water and a sponge with a little elbow grease which took me over half an hour and managed to remove the unsightly marks and came up as good as new.
The best option if possible is to view the awning erected before you buy even if it costs a little more because you can see any defects or repairs required.
i bought a small one last summer.. about £90 quid i think.. i went for the flat top type but most are the curved single pole ones..
mine still sits in its bag unused.. speed and ease of erection plus light weight were my main concerns.. i did only buy it for "just in case" reasons not to use all the time.. i do move about a lot..
Hi thanks for your suggestions. I am considering a new Sunncamp or secondhand Kampa what do you guys recommend. Unfortunately I haven't seen the Kampa in the flesh as it's too far away.

Kampa all the way, our 260 Ralle is now in its 6th season and still going strong, the best lightweight awning we have ever owned, and so easy to erect. We have the rear upright poles and monsoon poles for ours, plus the storm straps, well worth the extra bit of money, especially the rear upright poles.

I have a Sunncamp 300plus Rotonde awning for sale £120 which is miles too big for the Freedom van we got it for so only erected it to try then back in bag - only bought a few weeks ago. I also have a larger Kampa Rally 390 for £190 both are advertised on preloved. Only selling the rally as we have just bought a canvas porch awning & annexe.
Another vote for Kampa. we've had other makes that weren't nearly as robust . We got ours from a camping store , ex display at the end of the winter, after our towsure porch was trashed by high winds. It's a 260, excellent I think we paid £150 , now on its 4th year of quite heavy use. We bought the extra poles and storm guys and it was definitely worth doing . Hope you get sorted,
Hi sorry cazza20 I'm ideally looking for a 260 size. Thought I'd bought a Kampa 260 on Preloved but they told me it's damaged so it's back to trawling t'internet

Hi, just bought a Suncamp swift 260, the easy lock poles broke on the first go! Not impressed. Have got a kampa rally pro 330 which is great, hope this helps, ash

The smaller Kampa ones are always coming up for sale. I fell in love with ours the first time we saw it at the caravan show - they are so easy to erect and sturdy - hope you find one loobyloos x
