Had this caravan since August, upon washing it and viewing roof from house, we're confused as to what the bar on roof near the door is for? Any ideas?

We had a Swift caravan - I think it was to help divert the rain from dripping over the door and wetting your head!

My Swift has a 15mm (ish) 90deg plastic strip glued to the roof above the door.
It a rain drip.
