Hi. A lot of caravans have the normal plastic door catches our one is not the best at keeping the door in place when the wind blows. Is it possible to get a better one the same size of course and have you got any recommendations. Thanks in advance
Like all plastic components they age harden over time so they lose their properties and eventually become unfit for purpose. The majority of door stops retail for under a fiver so my advice would be just to replace the old one with a brand new one of identical design as that way you can use the existing screw holes but you will need to completely remove any old sealant and apply with new to make a weatherproof water tight seal.
The stay on my caravan is identical to the one in the link and never had a problem with it regards clamping the door back.
It's the two screw hole centre's on both parts that you need to check so you can be sure that you can just interchange them without having to drill any new holes and seal any existing ones. A new one will have the tension which will solve your problem.
