Hi all
We bought our first caravan at the start of last summer and had some great trips. This will be the first easter for us taking the van away, we are heading to brixham, devon from bournemouth in dorset and am getting bit freaked out about traffic predictions being horrific?!!!! We were planning on hitting the road very early in Friday, it should only be a 2hr30 mons trip but now we're wondering of we should go tomorrow? What's all your experience of travelling at Easter. Have seen conflicting reports that the roads will be manic from 12 noon tomorrow and quieter Friday but then I read the exact opposite elsewhere!?! Agghhhhh
If you are going early I would not worry about it.If I had tomorrow off I would go then and have an extra day and the pick of the pitches then watch everybody else turning up on Friday with a holiday lager and deck chair in the awning.

I would have thought it better to go tomorrow as most working people only have Friday and Monday off. It's coming back on Monday that's more of a problem to me.
My first trip will be May bank holiday. I am also worried. Heading south west on the M5 with every man and his dog. Sadly I don't get much holiday and it's all accounted for so I will just have to bite the bullet on Friday pm with everyone else.
If you can leave Thursday or early Friday then do it. Although I can't imagine there being as much traffic between Bournemouth and Brixham but it's not a great road is it? Is it the A303? Or the coast road? Since you live by the sea why not head to the midlands then you will be going in the opposite direction to everyone else?
No, thankfully it's not the. A303, and no, it's not a great road but we wanted to visit brixham and Dartmouth, we haven't lived down here very long and we're wanting to use the caravan to explore the south-west a bit!!
Although heading to a totally different part of the world we are travelling tomorrow after school rather than face the Good Friday madness both on the roads and on site!
