how long is reasonable to wait for a collection date of a used caravan. Put deposit down 3 weeks ago still no date for collection busy time of year in service department I've been told

Reasonable would have been 3days or so, but its a busy time of the year so I guess you will get it when they get around to it. If all it needs is a service then buy it with price of service knocked off & get it serviced somewhere else.

Lead time on our new caravan was going to be 2 weeks minimum. We ordered on the 29th and will be collecting on the 18th.

Depends what was discussed when deposit was paid. I would not pay money without an indication of when van will be available.

Our van took 2 weeks to get ready for pick up, but we had noticed some cosmetic damage ( a small dent in the side), so that was repaired and it was serviced before pick up.

I think 3 weeks is too long. I bought private so got it straight away. The next day I got it serviced and a few minor niggles sorted. The following day I got 2 new tyres fixed, I was then ready to roll. If I can do it in 3 days I would expect a dealer to be quicker.

I've always been given a date when I agree to buy it and pay the deposit. The availability date when I can collect it is part of the purchase contract.
