So we are having to start from scratch with insurance.

Can anyone recommend a particular insurance company who would be quite gentle on us as not having any no claims bonus?

Also do most people go New for Old or not?

We use caravan and camping club too very good price and have used them when we first brought a caravan 4 years ago without any no claims bonus. Renewal is due very soon I hope they haven't put the price up too much. Another good company to try is lifesure.

We used Simple Caravan Insurance for our first year and all good. Decent cover at low price.

Well in the end I had 3 quotes.

Caravanwise was the 1st, Caravan Club and Camping and Caravanning Club.

There was quite a price spread, ranging from £196.00 (Camping & Caravanning Club) to £360.00 (Caravan Club).

Looking at the cover and reputation and price we went for the Camping and Caravanning Club.

I did try to get a quote from Caravan Guard but there quote system didn't seam to want to work.

But have got new for old or market value cover? My 2006 caravan is covered new for old, so the policy price I pay is for the 2015 caravan price, policy cost is more but if written off the payout / replacement is for a 2015 caravan.
I use Caravan Guard and when I had to make a claim, it was sorted within 24hrs.

Surely that's open to insurance fraud, get a 15 year old van, write it off and get a brand new one

Just changed from CCC to Caravan Guard, over £100 less for slightly better cover.
