I have purchased a 2015 Swift Eccles Amesthyst caravan, I intend to us it on super pitches. with a water hook up most of the time, I have got a hose for this, but will water being pumped into the van under tap pressure be ok? or do I need a feed into a water but and the feed with a pump?
I bought a small ball-valve type of unit from Wickes (about £10) which I fit into the side opening of the Aquaroll, using a spare cap which has the valve permanently fitted to it. The water pipe from the tap is then simply snapped onto the valve using a plastic hose fitting that you see at most garden centres and DIY stores. There is no pressurised water fed directly to the van. When on a site where I have to fetch the water, the usual cap is replaced.
Note: When travelling, the standard cap is fitted - I never transport the Aquaroll with the ball-valve fitted in it.
Bertie.

Forgot to say the hose I have has a water regulator built into it.
With the built in regulator, you will be fine.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Choice of direct link with a pressure reducer or as above, via aquaroll with a float assembly.
Either one you are recommended to turn off tap if out for the caravan for the day for instance in case of any part failure (first one could flood your caravan, second one could flood caravan to a lesser extent but flood pitch)
I much prefer the ball valve set-up where you use the Aquaroll as a feed tank (as per Bertie's post above). The barrel sits there until water is demanded from the pump, then automatically topped up. Pressure is at the point of entry to the barrel only.
That said, if you have the correct type of direct feed water kit, they have an integral regulator to reduce the water pressure and many users find they work very well. However, having witnessed two examples where the pipework has blown off the back of the inlet housing inside the caravan, personally I don't favour them.
Interested to see people's thoughts on this one, we were going to go for the aqua roll kit for mains but I'm seriously paranoid about some sort of flood into the caravan happening!!
We have bought the ball valve for the aqua roll, we are booked on super pitches this summer. We will turn water off if away from the van for any amount of time.
We spoke to a couple that had this set up on a CC site, they explained it to us, and it seemed to work well.
Have to say, looking forward to not having to fill the water at silly o'clock

I would go for the aquaroll kit, that way if there is a leak it's outside your van. If you use the direct connect kit and a pipe fails in your van the water will keep pouring in until you switch it off.
We never turn off the tap to the aquaroll and haven't had a leak, wouldn't really be bothered if we did as it outside anyway.
On the odd occasion when we use serviced pitches we normally use a Whale Aquasource but although it works fine I do not trust it.
If we were to start using service pitches a lot I would use an Aquaroll kit

We did last year in Germany as the connector to the aquaroll wasn't on properly (my fault). Luckily we were in and I heard the gushing water going all over the pitch.
up to you but I would always turn it off if out for the day for instance, in same way I turn water pump off inside van if away for day
