I have just gone through gocompare to look at caravan insurance and there were a choice of 4 that would insure us ( the storage facility doesn't have a lockable gate) it doesn't really give a great deal of info but I saw an Adrian Flux one which I know several people recommend, but it says this...
•UK only call centres
•24 hour claim service
•Alternative accommodation cover
•Third party liability
3rd party? Is this like a car and means our caravan isn't covered if we crash it? :-(
it is strange in that it doesn't seem to give details of the cover.
Third party liability is damage to people & property your caravan might cause. Any caravan insurance policy should also cover for damage to & theft of your caravan as well. Check all small print of cover before you pay.

What you have to be beware of with comparison websites is the excess fee if you have to make a claim which catches a lot of people out as a lot never check and are amazed when a claim is submitted. Swinton gave me a cheap quote with 'Caravan Guard' till I seen the excess fee which which was treble the amount to my previous insurance.
Third party liability is the involvement of another person such as a pedestrian, cyclist or another driver etc.
You could also try the Caravan Club and the Camping and Caravanning club who would also be prepared to insure your van.
