Hi all,
Can anyone help, My sisters caravan is a 2006 Elddis Amber 556, she has a Truma ultrastore water heater which works fine on gas however, we cannot find the control for the 240v electric water heating. We have striped out the cushions and checked the bulkhead all around the inside of the van with no luck.
I have contact Elddis they have confirmed that this caravan has an electrical control switch listed on the BOM but cannot help with the location.
The gas control switch is mounted in a panel along with the ultraheat control switch, the ultrastore electric water heater switch is nowhere to be found
Does anyone have this type of caravan or any advise?

I would be very grateful

We had a Swift caravan of the same kind of age. The electrical switch for the Ultrastore on our van was hidden away in a cupboard close to the fuse box. It wasn't marked at all and looked exactly like a normal light switch that you have at home.

In my previous van, the heating and gas water heater controls were side by side and the electric control was in the wardrobe on what was like a main fuse box with trip switches

Depending on the make, and in some cases even the model, this switch can be almost anywhere, from low down at bunk locker door height (as is our 2012 Swift) to anywhere upwards to roof locker height. It is often a case of having to look for it - being quite small it isn't always obvious, but should be identifiable. On our 2001 Elddis I remember it being at about shoulder height when sitting on the settee - when in bed I used to reach up above my head first thing in the morning to switch it on.

Hi all
Thank you for your advise, I know it must be somewhere but I have looked in the following areas:-
All around the bulkhead at both floor and shoulder height.
The front seating area and in all the cupboards floor to head height.
I have found the consumer unit in a wardrobe above the space heater but I have not checked the trip assignments to see if one relates to or is the water heater control. I have not found the fuse box, I will search again, I hope I can find it soon or I may have to trace the cable from the water heater.
If I do have to trace the cable, I assume I will be looking for a 3 core cable with either a black or white sheath?
Once again thank you for all advise

looking at pics of this caravan it should be under the three drawers at the front of the van, on the left handside just above the air vent for the heating

Hi all
unfortunately its not under the 3 draws in the front or near it, the only item to the left on the kick board is a manual lever to divert the blown hot air into the awning area.
I have just been informed that the electric heating side of the ultrastore works automatically, therefore, no control switch - does anyone have any info on this?
I would be very grateful for all help

Try in the wardrobe under the bottom shelf, behind the heater if that makes sense.
