We have just got a camtech awning which we are going to leave upall season and take down about October. We have noticed it has buckles on the side for storm straps ,we hhave load of straps unfortunately without buckles on them.Do we have to buy the proper camptech straps or can we utilise the straps we have and just buy buckles to fit anyone done this before .Why waste money if you can use what you have that's what I thought ......
I reckon they are just the generic plastic clips so you can buy them readily enough and get them fixed for a few pence Maggie. Try Fleabay, and Delrin Side Release Plastic Buckles Clips For Webbing - 20mm, 25mm, 40mm & 50mm

------------- Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day,
Teach a man to fish and you can get rid of him for a whole weekend.
I agree its good to utilise what you have but if that doesn't workout then take a look at the Integra Awning tie down kit.
It comes with 2 or 3 different size clips to fit into the buckles on your awning. Also comes with straps and ground stakes.
I purchased a kit on Ebay for which cost £12.90 delivered.
It states what awning makes are suitable in the ad...

There are buckles attached to the awning so its the ones that connect to them.we need its a camptech awning i phoned glossop they said we need the same size as the dorema ones but dont know the size still
AS said early post you can buy the male part of buckle in most caravan dealer shops just measure the width of the female slot stitched to the size of the awning
cant actual remember sizes but there are two widths and take tape measure with you to shop also measure your strap width. no use if you need narrower size and your straps fits larger size. but you can get away with narrower strap on larger size.
I made up a set of my own some years back out of car safety belt webbing. the hardest part was fixing the eye end where spring clips on as I had now way of stitching fold over, I used extra belt sliders for shortening or lengthening belts or buy full kit from Dorema at CASTLEFORD YORKS look at web site not to far from your neck of the woods
