Hi,

I bought a caravan back in April 2014, I only used it once because I don't have a B+E entitlement on my licence. We decided to sell that and forget about it.

However by the end of this week, we would of aquired a 1994 Ford motorhome (mint condition) and a 2004 Swift Caravan (also mint condition - The Partners Parents).

Being new to the scene again, I was wondering if there was anything I need to know, tips maybe??

Obviously I wont be able to tow the caravan until I have my B+E and Arctic licence.

It all depends on weights, you only need to really worry if your towing with a very heavy car like me, my tow car is over 2 tonnes with a max gross of 3030kg so that only leaves me with 470kg for a caravan!

If you tow with a smaller car and a medium size caravan you should be fine

Hi Dave,

Yes my cars MGW is 2505kg, and the caravan they're getting is 1500kg.

Its a silly law really as I have my Category C and D licence.

To be honest i'm looking at doing my Cat C+E so instead of wasting money on the B+E I might wait.
