For many years I have been with Britannia rescue but today reading the small print I realised that the caravan will only be recovered if it is attached to the car when you break down. Not satisfactory so I am going with either C&CC Arrival (RAC) or CC Mayday (GreenFlag)
Does anyone have any comparisons of the 2 please?

Check the terms with the RAC as I think they have size limits on the caravan they will recover. In the end I went with green flag
After reading the policy of the RAC Arrival cover it states that you have peace of mind knowing that you have the ultimate cover in terms of a breakdown because if the towcar is within a 75 mile radius they will recover both car and caravan and make a return journey home if the car cannot be fixed at the roadside. However, I had first hand experience and did have to call them out when in Wareham in Dorset on holiday in 2013 and found that they were full of broken promises to which the terms and conditions are not worth the paper they're written on.
The RAC patrol van came out, said I had about 11 fault codes to which my car would have to be taken to a Volvo dealer due to the nature of the problem and needed the Volvo software to detect the underlying fault which the nearest dealer was 'Snows' in Poole. The Volvo dealer had my car for a whole day and said they couldn't fix it to which I was requested to have the car collected by the RAC and find alternative arrangements. The RAC said I already had the one tow so nothing could be done which meant that they were going to leave us and our caravan stranded on the camp site with the car at the premises of the Volvo dealer with no compassion or understanding whatsoever.
It's a long story but the RAC staff were not knowledgable enough to understand what the Arrival cover was but after hours of waiting in desperation they eventually offered a rescue the following day but wanted to charge me per mile for taking my caravan back the 185 mile journey back home. Again another heated debate and another 4 calls before I got to get to speak to someone who understood what the Arrival cover consisted of but the RAC were not very professional to say the least.
I knocked em' on the head last year and took out an annual Volvo plan which includes free breakdown cover. This covers my caravan too providing it is hitched to the car at the time of breakdown which is identical to the AA breakdown cover which is also expensive. When you are paying a high cost for the ultimate service, peace of mind and no hassle only to be severely disappointed and bought to tears then there's no point in joining the RAC and believing that you are fully covered.
It's not the service from the patrol guys at fault, it's the uneducated muppets on the help desk that don't look at the computer screens an identify exactly what cover you have.
They can't even take the money out by direct debit on the same date each month which I would go as far as to say that they are probably the worst company I have ever had to deal with.
We looked at both cc and c&cc, and went with Green Flag through CC. It seems to be better suited to getting our van AND car where they need to be if we break one or both of them.

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about....?
Just taken out Green Flag via the Caravan Club. It was slightly better than just the GF one as they will tow you to your holiday destination then home again if car is still not fixed. Definitely tailored to the caravan owner.
