HI everyone
Me and the wife are becoming campsite wardens next year can
anyone give any feedback being a warden it will be on caravan and camping sites.
I've never been a warden but ran a livery yard for many years which I guess is similar in that you'll be dealing with people.... People who are paying to enjoy their leisure and hobby. Obviously there are rules to adhere to and at times you'll need to enforce them but always do so with masses of tact and diplomacy.... Always wear a smile!
Wishing you luck in your new venture

Colin you will do about 3 years as assistants before getting to be a HSM (Holiday site manager) We were Wardens/managers for 14 years with the C&CC and loved every minute of it. Yes you need patience and many other qualities but if you are like us, we still have friends made on the first site of our own which was Kessingland. We managed the site from 1991 -1996 inclusive and this year will be going to the wedding of one of the children that used to come every year with their grandparents. Times have changed since we retired in 2002 but nothing will change all the happy memories we have. Go into it doing everything you asked and take the rough with the smooth but enjoy it.
First thing - it's not like being on holiday - it's hard work!
It is (almost always) enjoyable so I hope you and your wife have a great time of it.
Patience is definitely the best quality:
when people call at 2 in the moring for a brochure and didn't expect anyone to answer the phone
when people let both of their gas bottles run empty and are surprised that you don't want to get out of bed to open up the gas compound and shop to get them a replacement.
These kind are few and far between so enjoy!
