My Viking fibreline has a 210cm high awning rail. I am looking at purchasing a 2nd hand porch although most have the fibreglass flexible poles and state that they are for 235cm awning rails.
I'm looking at a suncamp scenic plus. Has anyone used this porch with a lower rail than the 235cm specified? If this likely to be incompatible with my Viking?
We tried a similar awning on our old caravan which had a low awning rail compared with modern caravans. The flexy poles kept popping over the roof and it was a bit of a disaster.
Have a look at campersandleisure.co.uk, they do awnings for folding caravans etc with lower rails. The easiest solution is probably to buy a driveaway awning for a van conversion, something like a Movelite or a Cayman which will fit an awning rail around 200 - 220 high.

I think you are best to be looking at one of the old Isabella Combi porches, that I think they made up till the late nineties. These tracked up one side of the van and dropped down from the awning rail at a point where you had cut the bead to match the van's rail height.
They were exceptionally good and have aged well so buying as you will have to secondhand should get you a decent one. They were made in two sizes, a 625 and a 680 bead length, and were sold with GRP poles or more cheaply steel poles.
These are ideal for "boat-roofed" van's of that era.
