can anyone please help. i want to change the spotlights in my bailey senator series 6 to LEDs, and i am havinig problems getting the old ones out, any tips.
If these are the directional spot/reading lights, you should find a round clip that holds the lamp in place, fitted around the front lens. You may just see the two wire tabs that bend inwards on the perimeter of the lamp, squeezing these in should allow removal of the retaining ring and the lamp would then drop out (if on a loose plug with a bit of extra wiring) or gently pry out. They don't twist out as the base connections are just two straight pins.
When getting a replacement MR11 spot, I would advise on getting one with a glass lens to protect it once the retaining clip is fitted back on; many of the cheaper LED MR11's don't have the lens and you may encounter a problem with this type.
The problem with some of these fittings is that the perimeter of the lamp is tight against the cylinder which forms the lampholder, leaving no space to grip and turn it to remove.
I solved this by plastering a wodge of Blu-tac on to the face of the lamp, which gave my fingertips sufficient grip to turn and remove it.
Worth a try if your fitting is of this type, without the wire clip.
