I had problems when I used two separate coax cables from the lnb to the box. I changed to 'shotgun' cable and no bother afterwards. I assume you've checked cable connections going into the box. They can soon become undone with movement.

Also, if you go into your SKY settings, turn mini-TV on if it's not on already, it helps to keep the feed locked on.

For camping duties, I can't really see the point of using two cables, the only benifit that it offers is that you will be able to watch a channel that is on a different Polarity and Band to a channel that you may wish to record.
When running a Single cable to a satellite receiver with Twin tuners, all that you have to rember is that you have to leave the receiver on the channel that you want to record.

Some people on holiday wish to use the Sky box's full capabilities, without missing any series links they have set up. They may well wish to watch one channel while recording another.

Yes arturo, but even with a Single Feed, it is still possible to record a different channel to what you are watching, it is just the case that both channels need to be on the same Polarity (V or H) and Band (High or Low Band)
But like you say, for full functionality, you do need Two Feeds, although you can get a piece of clever kit, Johnsen Destekker, that can send 2 Feeds down a Single cable, but that's another story.
When I worked at Sky a few years back, folk in Flats were quite happy to run there Sky+ Box of a Single Feed, and they soon got used to the limitations of a Single Feed setup.

OH wouldn't go away if he couldn't watch tv, but that is confined to mornings for a while and evenings. We are certianly not "glued to it", and he doesn't use the internet. Each to their own, it's not a crime!

Yep Anne, we mostly use our satellite TV system for UK Radio, when we are down on the Cote d Azur.
The BBC World Service ShortWave broadcast's, covering the Cote d Azur ended some time back, and were supposed to have been replaced by the Afristar Satellite radio service, giving all the UK BBC radio stuff, but failed soon after it started.
In fact often is the case that our TV is not even connected, as our Humax Freesat+ box displays the Radio station on the LED display, something that is not possible with a Sky box.

Do you have a laptop Pollyanna? I'm just wondering if it mightn't be less hassle for you to leave the box at home and watch on your laptop instead. You'd need a site with decent wifi though of course (or a portable wifi solution). You need to register your laptop with Sky Go, which is free I think, depending on your subscription.

Some of us head off when and where it gets dark and cool in the early evening and a bit of telly beats playing ludo, or even lewdo😂
Good for radio too and if you go off for months at a time you need to keep up to date with happenings at home.
Not addicted, never watch soaps, but handy to have and easy to set up. Most caravanners I know use sat dish or Internet to keep informed and in touch
