Hi, Im a little confused so hope someone can help advise me - in very simple terms ;)
Our van has an aerial point in it, and I have digital tv at home that I was hoping I could use in the van. I know I need an aerial of some sort, but what type and where I fit it I'm clueless about!
Can anyone help? We're away for Whitsun week and the children are concerned about missing Britain's Got Talent!!!
Thanks :)

A vision plus aerial can be bought for around £30 plus you will need a pole to mount it on.I would advise you as well to get a aerial booster if your van is not fitted with one.All can be bought from a caravan dealer or maybe cheaper on the web.PS..there is no such thing as a digital aerial..

Just thought of another(probably stupid!) question. I plug a lead from the tv into the socket in the van - where does the aerial plug in to the van???!!!!

We have an aerial point on the outside. I didn't realise there was an aerial point underneath the little door for about two years so look for unexplained doors around the level of your water filter, electric point etc.
we just use an indoor digital aerial which works fine. It cost about £10 from Tesco!
our aerial inlet was in the battery box where the mains lead goes, but if its old try just putting through window till it works before you try it out! used indoor aerial on van roof, usually got a signal.
We simply plug the aerial straight into the TV and watch whatever freeview program takes our fancy. No need to waste money on other aerials if you already ahve an aerial on the caravan.
just one point to mention and very important . get your t..v ariel and erect on a decent post ,but beforehand have a wander around other vans on site and see which way theres are pointing and what polarity there using i.e is the ariel flat like a plane wing or vertical like the side of a fish .very important .
also be aware if your going far away your t.v will need re-tuning to the channels that it can pick up from the local transmitter ,a 5 minute job but needs to be done .
Generally if there's an aerial socket where they expect you to put the tv in the van there is usually an aerial somewhere on the roof.
Even those saucer things will work in most places now that the digital switchover is complete. In short you can get a signal with a piece of damp string these days.
I'd have a good look around the caravan roof. If that fails connect the tv from home to the aerial socket in the van via a suitable lead and see if it actually works!
