Hi. New to camping, going on first two week holiday in July 2015, Cornwall. Love this site and all the photos of people's set ups. Would like ideas for home cooking in the tent...we have a halogen cooker, two gas rings and a fridge. Recipes and photos would be great! Thanks.
For Easter Sunday we did a full roast beef dinner using the halogen oven (beef and roast pots) and cadac (roasted roots and Yorkshire pudding) then some steamed veg on the rings.

2017
April - New Forest(9)
May - Dorset (9)
August - Camping Le Pin Parasol, Vendee (18)
October - East Mersea (8)
and five nights in the one man tent!
My best recipe includes a few rashers of smokey bacon, Cumberland sausages, garlic sausage, Bury black pudding, mushrooms, beans and tomato. Throw in a couple slices of toast and a mug of coffee and we're set to go...
Tuna and sweetcorn chowder.
for 4.
2 tins tuna in Oil/Water/Brine
4/5 large spuds just scrubbed,
2 onions chopped large
2 small tins sweetcorn
Chicken stock
Grated mature cheddar cheese
Milk
Takes 35 mins from start to eating.
Chop potatoes, onions into large dice (pots about 1/2 to 3/4 inch cubes or to suit your taste) put in a large pan and just cover with water. Add concentrated liquid chicken stock (i use Knorr touch of taste liquid)(2-3 chicken oxos is fine) Bring to boil and cook until potatoes are done.. Not too long 15 mins? A lot of the water/stock will have boiled off
Add the drained Tuna, Sweetcorn (with the juice), Milk to make the liquid up (as soupy or as thick as you want) and heat it all through. Finally add plenty of grated mature cheddar and stir until its melted through.
Lovely especially if you are starving when you arrive on site and quick too.
