I've wanted to buy a caravan for ages, but wasn't sure I could interest She Who Must Be Obeyed.
In the end she agreed to give it a go, so I bought a cheap Swift 390/2 - 1991, soft area in front corner, but everything works, £500. That was a long story, but anyway, all seems well with the van - at least in so far as giving it a go to see how we get on with it.
We've taken it away this half term for our first time away together (I stopped somewhere on the way from buying it, but this is the first time proper), and - wow! What a revelation.
My wife can't get enough of it. We're cosied up in bed in a beautiful and rural site in a gorgeous part of the world. She loves it. We bought a full awning on eBay for £50, but putting it up was utterly baffling until both our neighbours on both sides stepped in to give us a hand and to work it out. It's been a brilliant experience so far - and, of course, early days, but we're both, at the moment, very happy happy campers, and very happy to be part of the club!
