Hello we have got a seasonal pitch so have our awning up. We have one outside socket but can oly put extension in it . Just wondering if this is safe in case any water gets into it. Has anyone got anything they have used thats safe or how have you solved this problem . Dont want to get any nasty shocks or anyone else to get any thanks
You mean you mean you have a 3pin mains socket on outside of caravan? Thats safe enough provided its a weatherproof socket which it should be & inside awning even better. Just take normal precautions to ensure it don't get splashed with water & so on.
Our external socket isn't inside the awning and we use an extension lead. It's quite safe if you are sensible and keep the flap down, the wire looped so the rain can't run down the wire. The caravan breakers will protect the circuit.
