Hi this question I'm about to ask may sound stupid but I Just want to be sure.
My caravan has a awning size of 880 acording to the book.
The awning I am looking to buy says 890-900.
Will this fit?
Thanks
Jim
The easiest way is to convert metric to imperial first which then gives you a better perspective of how much bigger the awning is. So if you look at the average awning size which is 895 cms. minus the book size of 880 cms. equals 15 cms. and that figure converted to imperial is approximately 6 inches.
That means that you would be left with about 3 inches at either end so you have to ask yourself if you can gain 3" in height and lose that amount of slack and the answer is yes if you pull the caravan on a pair of ramps.
What you have to remember is, if the awning is too short then it's impossible to stretch the material to the ground but if it's slightly big your in with a better chance so the final decision is yours.
However, the best option of all is to fit the awning to the caravan and see how it looks.

I wish I could try it on the caravan before I bought but it's 150miles away and collection only, I'm down there for work next week so it's convenient.
I don't know what to do now, sounds like it could be a gamble.
What make of awning would that be? That is a very unusual spread, more usually you would find that it is sized in 25cm lengths and that yhe awning is made to fit rails that are 12 or 13 cm either side of the measurement. If it is one of the major manufacturers then a 900cm would be too big for your van whilst an 875 would be nigh in perfect. The major exception to this would be dorema whose sizes would be 887 to cover the lengths 875 to 900 and again that would be an excellent fit on your van.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

It says Isabella/Ventura Pacific 300 On the listing
It looks good. In the listing it says 875 to 900. That would be very unusual for Isabella ( thoigh not impossible I have an unusual 940cm Isabella ). Ask him a question. Ask if he has the bag and if he has what the numbers on the label on the the bag say the model number is. The last three dugits of that number will be the size. If it is an 875, great or anything up the 890 but if it is a 900 it will be too big and will flop around and you will not be able to tension it.

There is an Isabella Ambassador 875 that is a new listing on at the moment with a buy it now price if £275 it sounds good and as it it very much top of the range if I were looking I would bite his hand off for it.

We've just got a right bargain for our new to us swift conqueror, a Dorema Royal 350 complete with awning carpet and the extra wall so you can make it have a porch, AND a tall annexe, only used a few times for £600.
We had it all out of the bags when we got it home yesterday and have folded it up a bit better and taken out the annexe as we don't really need that but handy if my daughter wants to come away with us or the grandchildren.
Next job is to sort out all the poles and make sure they are all there and not damaged, it looks a mammoth task though.
All in all its about £1800 worth of awning as its a size 17.
Not very often we get a bargain.
Good luck with yours, if you look on the various websites you can put in your make of van and it will tell you what size.

For an 880 'A' measurement you would need an Isabella/Ventura size 875. This covers a range of 861-885.
But why not check for your caravan on the Isabella website.
Edit: Awnings are normally 2.5 metres deep, but the Isabella/Ventura Pacific 300 will be 3 metres deep.
Yeah I saw that on my Google searches but it doesn't show my caravan.
I have eldiss slipstream 2000 xl but it does not show it.
It seems to show all the others except mine.

Thanks for the heads up on that
I was going to buy it now for 275 but decided to risk it and bid instead, ended up paying £194
Thanks very much

Great stuff, as long as it lives up to the advert you have a real bargain there.

What an odd suggestion to convert from metric to imperial, which is only valid to someone still thinking in imperial units.
