Please help!!

I am currently touring, but my Alde 3010 is not working on electric!

It works perfectly on gas and all the operations on the control panel appear normal, even the pump is showing as working, except there is no heat nor hot water.

I have checked the fuse panel and all are OK, all the rest of the mains electrical points and appliances are working normally.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there
There is a 1 amp glass fuse next to the water tank (well it is in ours) separate from the main electrics , it is actually in a control box for the water system, someone on a site in France had this happen and the campsite owner phoned Alde who straight away suggested checking this fuse .
Hope it works for you

Thanks Jenny,

Yes I found the fuse you were taking about, in fact I have two of them, but they were both OK.

Today I visited Pioneer Caravans and a very kind fellow from the service department, even though he was about to have lunch, said he would have a quick look for me,

He found the switch at the Sargent electric mains box was turned OF!!! In my defence, in three years I have never had cause to touch this switch and as it is a push one that you would never know if it was on or off.

Unfortunately to my shame, this switch is actually marked "heating system" and when it's turned on it lights up to signify that i is ON!!

At times like this one feels sooo stupid, but I am just so glad that it was nothing serious. Hopefully this post will help someone else in the future.

Thanks again Jenny

On the top row of the Alde control panel at the extreme right is an icon (like a plug) that indicates when mains to the boiler is switched on.
Our mains switch for the boiler is mounted on the outside of the front seat panel, and shows a red light when on.
We still sometimes forget to turn this switch on, but the other half reminds me when she asks why there's no hot water.
