Hi I am new to the whole caravan experience.
Me my wife and 3 children have just had our first few days away in the caravan very good experience other than noticing that the water heater is continuously leaking water out of the bottom of the caravan. Water is coming from the red over flow pipe which is situated directly under neath the caravan. Can anybody give me any ideas as it's quite frustrating when we go out for the day and return back to an empty water tank. Thanks for any comments in advance
hi mark if it's like our van the pipe under our van is the drain down pipe for emptying the system for the winter if it is it should have a plug in might not be but worth checking hope this helps

Hi Jeff,
The water comes out the pipe all the time even when the water is not running through the tap. The only way to stop it is to remove water pump from water container and turn off along with the water heater, so it's a real pain in my side
There will be a valve nearby the heater that you need to flick....you have the drain open, so it will just pour water through the system and the pump will keep going till the barrel runs out of water.
Hi Dave Thorpe the van is an ABI AWARD TRISTAR in answer to your question no there is not a tap on the side of the boiler. Although if you look below your comment I am quite sure there is not the tap thatJasie has said about. However I shall have a good look in next few days just to confirm and shal post my findings on here
Not sure I'f I've spoken to this guy about his ABI, but at one time ABI had a daft idea of a 'Tee'ed' off pipe from the Cascade hot water outlet leading out through the floor.
Simple solution in this case, it's certainly not needed so remove Tee and connect hot pipe direct to the outlet.
Thanks arc systems I have not had any chance to look at caravan yet for the above recommendations, however a friend of mine who is a familiar caravanner did question why the hot water goes 3 ways. I shall try and have a good look and possibly a fiddle during the weekend. Thanks for all your advice.
