So you like caravanning and don't get chance to use it that much cos of work commitments.
Does any body take the van out just for the day and have a tow about, I guess if you use it often enough you'll not need to.
All I have done is take it straight to the campsite on a planned route and back again or to the dealers for the annual service / repair.
I"m planning on a week touring Scotland September time, and want to tow it around for a day, see how we get on around the back roads before the trip.
Guess what I'm trying to say is I don't use it enough and want to go out and play.
We're lucky enough to be quite close to clumber park and have taken the tt down there just to open it up and have a faff (there's a few fields on the long drive in) it's very popular with people that just go and put their tents/tt's and caravans up for the day, playing games etc.
In fact the last time we went with our new tt to try it out, we were sat having a cuppa and some foreign visitors parked their campervan on the road and came to ask if it was actually a campsite as there were so many people there! Maybe there is somewhere near you similar to this?

We are in the same boat and considering selling up.This year we have been out once because of hospital appointments and have been looking at coach tours. They are great value for money and i know we wont have our independence but, then again dont have to worry about the upward costs of caravaning.
I know if I sell I'll regret it the minute it's gone and weekends are out of the question as we work them.
Only time we have a couple of consecutive days off is when the weather is too rough to work (market traders) no joy towing in that sort of weather.

put the caravan on a seasonal pitch not too far away then you can use the caravan on the time you do get.
Thanks for the advise, but It's the touring about I'm wanting to do .. it's not the sort of caravan for a seasonal pitch.
