We have two Avtex Tv's a 22 inch and a 16 inch, both work fine on the van battery and the mains. The 22 inch tv has a satellite decoder built in and also receives HD Tv through the van ariel. The only issue I have with the Tv is the relatively poor sound quality from the speakers, this was resolved by plugging a lead into the headphone socket on the tv and connecting it to the aux. socket on the radio.

I would go for the Avtex. Reliable and with excellent picture and tuner. Uses little 12 volt power. Have a look on ebay. Often some for sale there.

We use a Cello 16" which will run of 12v if required, it was a big step up from our little Thomson 10" CRT colour TV that we used to take up until 2012.
The Cello was cheap. As chips at £85 back in 2013, for camping it is as good as we need, and we only use it with a satellite system for our fortnight campings in a France each year.

It depends on the tv wattage, battery, etc. But to give you an idea my 75amp hr batttery is 5 yrs old and with an 80w foldable solar panel we can watch our 100quid currys 20inch flat screen all evening before the battery is showing low, not flat. The solar then recharges during the day, especially if sunny!

Our Avtex 16" uses up to 35 Watts, which is just under 3 Amps at 12V. So theoretically our 110Ah battery would last for at least 36 hours of continuous use, but realistically 18 hours (it's not advised to deplete the battery more than 50%).
If your TV uses more than 35W then the running time will be proportionately less.

May have been mentioned before, but if you buy a cheap tv from say Tesco (other supermarket brands are available lol) that use a 12v transformer from the mains 240v to the tv, then these will run off your caravan 12v supply with a correct lead, however, the carvans 12v supply is not stable, it can spike above 12v and could in theory damage your tv, the transformer supplied with them stabilises the 12v output to prevent damage. So when looking for a 12v lead for one of these tvs make sure its one that also will stabilise the power.
