Has anyone any advice and experience of placing a van on a site for a season .Is it possible to store a van at sites and have it moved to another?
I am investigating the purchase of a larger van and having it ,delivered, to a site, then moved to another site at some point in time.
You may have guessed that I do not like towing too much and see this as an alternative to a static van with the advantage of being able to move sites as we wish ! (But not too often)
Hi Mike I did seasonal for a few years due to ill health most sites usually start season from March 1st to 1st November ( but there are variations) where you pay for season say £1400 + £ 30 month winter storage.
Some sites are open all year so you pay for year say £1850 -£2000 but no winter storage.
Some of these sites charge you say £1800 + electric on monthly basis. usually you pay more for EHU if you use prepaid cards.
This is how they get round charging you more than they pay about 30% ( like people who have to go to pay point shop to top up their card to put in landlords meter)
I strongly advise you visit site/s before committing and get all facts. check all toilet/shower blocks you are going to be there for a long time as well as EHU (16 amp is a must)
There a few and far between club sites that do seasonal especially green sites.
Most Club sites are max 28 day stay or less.
Haven or Park resort do seasonal some 10months some 351 days a year (NO PAY LOCAL RATES)
Check check Its hard to get your money back once you've paid up front and don't like site after a month or less
Some sites will tow your van out of storage and put on pitch if you ring them 24 hrs notice and then tow to storage when you leave (24hrs) they usually charge £1 per day storage and usual pitch fees when your there.
There are some good sites in East Yorkshire which is not too far from you if you can afford the bridge fees HA HA
Conifer Lakes if you like fishing nice and quiet. but get on net and download the ones you fancy.
I pitched up over there and visited about 6 before My OH decided which one. The choice is yours or should I say "hers"(I wont recommend went down hill after two years)
Just thought some do winter seasonal (6 months) then summer seasonal extra money, you could do six then move on and do 6 else where ??? Hope you find some where that you enjoy.

I am on a seasonal pitch and some people have had their new vans delivered to the site. There are also companies who will move van for you, some will tow it and others on the back of a low loader, but I don't think it's cheap to do that.
The site I am on you have to pay for the year up front (site open beginning of March - mid November, with free storage on your pitch the rest of the time).
If you think you will be moving it you may wish to price up haulage companies to see if what you suggest is viable.

I am on a seasonal site not to far from your location, we pay a seasonal site fee plus a reasonable storage fee for the winter (on site) the owner of the site puts the van into storage and then puts it out again in the spring.
I have just changed my van and it was delivered to site and the old one towed away, no problems.
It does pay to get to known the site and what you want out of the site and location to make sure it is what you want.
Our site is very quiet and adults only, with fishing for users only, but we known the site for many years and it fills all what we look for.
